The Quad City Mallards have been purchased by Tape2Tape Sports & Entertainment, LLC led by Eric Karls of Vancouver, British Columbia.  The transaction has been approved by the Central Hockey League and i wireless Center.

“In my search to acquire a hockey team I reviewed opportunities in a number of leagues all across the United States and Canada,” stated Karls.  “I felt the Mallards had some significant potential to grow their attendance particularly as they move into the Central Hockey League.”

“The Mallards have a good core audience of fans,” said Karls.  “It will be up to our management team to expand that fan base through marketing and community outreach while delivering an affordable and exciting experience for fans”

The management team will be led by Bill Davidson, CEO of National Sports Services (nsssports.com).  Davidson serves as CEO of two teams in the ECHL and a AA minor league baseball team.

“Furthering the team’s presence throughout the region will be a top priority,” Davidson said. “To accomplish this objective, we will be expanding our front office staff in order to better serve the Mallards sponsors, fans and the community.” 

A formal press and fan conference introducing Karls to the Quad Cities will be planned for a time closer to the season.
